As a tasty treat for fans of both hearty Southern cuisine and country music, the legendary Dolly Parton, alongside her sister Rachel Parton George, is set to release a cookbook that promises to be as wholesome and heartwarming as the singer herself.
Titled ‘Good Lookin’ Cookin”, the collection of recipes brings the Parton family’s kitchen to tables worldwide, offering a taste of the South and a peek into the life of the country music star.

Parton describes the book in an Instagram caption: “I wrote this book with my sister, Rachel, who might just be the best cook I know.
“If you’re like us, you believe that good food and good times are the next best thing for pure love. So take a journey with us, into the kitchen.”
Alongside the release of ‘Good Lookin’ Cookin” comes a Duncan Hines Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Cake mix, which Parton unconvincingly sampled in a follow-up video. We’ll forgive her, you don’t keep a 25-inch waist by eating cake all day.

Parton, a towering figure in country music, has long been celebrated not just for her talent and iconic style, but also for her unwavering support of numerous causes including funding childhood literacy programs, LGBTQIA+ charities, and a $1m donation toward the development of a Covid-19 vaccine, earning her the status of humanitarian royalty.
Dolly, in collaboration with her sister Rachel, teased the release of the cookbook on Parton’s Instagram page, one month after the singer’s collaboration with dessert company Duncan Hines.

Sweet and savory recipes from the Parton family are expected, with braised beans, mushrooms and bacon; biscuits with bacon; fried green tomatoes; and chicken with dumplings and gravy featured in the post. As the music legend says, “Every single diet I ever fell off was because of potatoes and gravy of some sort.”
